Clover Mama Afrika welcomes new partner
Issued by: Clover

It is one thing to do the right thing because you have to, but it is quite another when you do the right thing because you want to. Engineering company Zimmermann & Jansen SA (Pty) Ltd has been searching for a worthy Corporate Social Investment (CSI) project to support and found Clover Mama Afrika.

This new partnership will not only give much-needed funds, training and equipment to the Clover Mama Afrika project, but enable Zimmerman to also play a significant part in uplifting disadvantaged communities.

“We are a relatively small company and we always wanted to contribute towards a worthy cause. We believe that Clover Mama Afrika has the infrastructure and manpower to maintain and continuously improve on their existing projects countrywide,” says Dr Christian Biegus, Managing Director of Zimmermann & Jansen SA.

The Clover Mama Afrika project has created a great deal of interest with companies that may have the funds, but not necessarily the manpower to manage a social responsibility project in its entirety. This is where Clover Mama Afrika brings value to companies that want to contribute and make a difference in the lives of many underprivileged South Africans. The fact that the Clover Mama Afrika project has been accredited full Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) status is another incentive for companies wishing to fulfill their scorecard obligations.

Zimmermann's partnership with Clover Mama Afrika will go beyond financial contributions as they are looking to also recruit young engineers to be trained and employed in the industry. “Our core business is the manufacturing of high-quality and reliable valves for severe applications in the iron and steel, chemical and petrochemical industries. There is a need to train engineers in this field - what better way than to find these candidates within a project like Clover Mama Afrika,” says Dr Biegus.

“We welcome Zimmermann & Jansen SA as our new partner and look forward to a long-term relationship. Clover Mama Afrika is a trust and therefore any assistance is most appreciated. Dr Biegus and his team are making a huge contribution to help us acquire additional equipment and training for current projects that are showing great potential, but need more financial support,” says Prof Elain Vlok, founder and driver of the Clover Mama Afrika project.
