Marketing milestone for radio station

Ligwalagwala FM and BMW “SJW Motors” are running a competition on the radio station's afternoon drive show, where 14 listeners will be taken out for dinner with their favourite DJs. The competition is part of a strategy to increase usage of the Ligwalagwala FM website. It is also the first time in 26 years that BMW will be advertising on the station.

BMW “SJW Motors” and Ligwalagwala FM will also be hosting an outside broadcast on Saturday, 24 May 2008, where the successful candidates will be given their BMW 1 series.

“After Ligwalagwala FM re-branded and repositioned itself as a afro-urban radio station targeting LSM 5-7, we felt our target market resonate well with the station says,” explains Mash Malibe, marketing and communications manager at SJW Motors

“As a PBS radio station, in terms of trade marketing, this is a milestone for the station to prove the financial muscle of the station listeners that has been over-looked by premium advertisers,” says Mfundo Ntsibande, marketing manager, Ligwalagwala FM.
