OFM news manager wins international fellowship

OFM's news manager, Margaret Linström, is one of only five Africans who have been awarded a journalism fellowship to the prestigious Poynter Institute in St Petersburg, Florida, in the US. The fellowship is for three consecutive weeks of study and began on 16 October 2006.

Enthuses Linström, "I am incredibly excited about the opportunity to visit the Poynter Institute and learn from the best of the best - and then to return to OFM and plough back into my team what I have learnt."

In the first week of the fellowship, she has been attending a Poynter Leadership Academy seminar. The second week will be spent learning the latest coaching and teaching approaches, and her last week will be spent at North Carolina Public Radio in Durham.
