Company news: New CEO takes over reins at Bankmed
Issued by: Magna Carta PR

Milton Streak has been appointed Chief Executive Officer and Principal Officer of closed medical scheme Bankmed.

Milton Streak
A pharmacist by profession, Streak (age 41) has extensive experience within the medical schemes industry. After five years in the retail pharmacy trade, and a year at Direct Medicines, he joined Medscheme in 1996 where he built up vast experience in both closed and commercial medical scheme management, as well as the design and implementation of specific managed care initiatives.

After more than six years with Medscheme, Milton joined Discovery Health as the executive heading Discovery InHouse, the closed medical scheme division of Discovery Health. His active involvement with the marketing and sales process, led to a significant increase of Discovery Health's market share in terms of the number of closed medical scheme lives under administration and management.

Streak says he is looking forward to this new challenge. "Bankmed is one of the oldest, most established and well-respected players in the industry. To be afforded this opportunity is at the same time very exciting and very challenging."

"I am confident that my experience in, and knowledge of, the industry will afford me the ability to add value to the Bankmed strategy and vision going forward," concludes Streak, who will be based in Johannesburg.
