It is one of those rare television commercials that is receiving heightened exposure from viral internet marketing. It is the new Nando's ad called “Chips” advertising a bigger, fuller, bouncier, double breasted burger, which is matched perfectly by a bigger, fuller, bouncier double breasted lady whose assets blind her from the chips the burger comes with.
The idea was generated by Black River FC and it was directed by Cindy Lee from Fresh Eye Film Productions, who searched the land looking for an actor who could complement her comedic direction and also had the physical form to overshadow the chips. “Finding the right person was the only tough part. The shoot was fun thanks to a great agency and client,” says Lee.
Copywriter Des Pillay said the commercial entertains and that is mainly because of the amusing spin Cindy Lee put on it. “We get great treatments from directors, but Cindy always delivers a performance way above our expectation.”
