Terraplane's got a brand new bag
Issued by: Terraplane

Terraplane came onto the scene as a maverick eight years ago, and has now evolved into a well-established and respected director-based commercials house, but as Dan Roberts puts it, “We've always been more comfortable with the new kid on the block-rebel thing.” With this spirit, Terraplane has taken on a new partner in the company, Trevor Clarence.

“We've been feeling the need to inject a new energy into the driving of Terraplane, and who better to ride shotgun with us than Trevor, who exemplifies the new spirit of director,” says Ann Roberts.

Trevor was the first director hired at Terraplane, and has helped shape the culture of the company. Wanting to find a way to announce the new era, Trevor has run the rebranding of their website and showreels. Have a look at www.terraplane.co.za to see their new look, featuring images created by photographer Ross Garrett.

But they didn't just hire Ross to take the photos, they liked his work so much they decided to take him on as a director. Ross is no stranger to advertising, being one of the most sought-after commercial photographers in the country. “It just made too much sense,” says Trevor, “Ross is a genius, and beautifully humble about it, he's going to be an incredible director.”

You can see some of Ross' new photographic work at www.injozirossgarrett.blogspot.com.

Terraplane has a reputation for introducing to the market fresh talent from outside the norm. They've made successful directors of designers, musicians, feature film directors, stand-up comedians and photographers. As Dan puts it, “What's important is a unique creative talent who can master the balancing act between creativity and commerce.”
