New data from the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) show that more than 230 million people, almost six percent of the world's adult population, now lives with diabetes.

“Diabetes SA has a mission statement of ‘promoting diabetes, care and support for all.' We do this by dealing with people who have both type 1 and type 2 diabetes whether they have medical aid or not,” says Leigh Ann Bailie, the National Office Manager at Diabetes SA.
