The SAIHCM, a Section 21 not-for-profit company, promotes new levels of professionalism, preparedness and effectiveness of health care management in the country. It is opening its nomination process for the 2008 TOP 10 INFLUENTIAL LEADERS in health care management.

The South African health care system desperately needs visionary leaders to address the challenges that the industry is facing. SAIHCM annually recognises leaders in health care management from all sectors of the industry. This prestigious award acknowledges those health sector managers who:

· have a tangible record of achievement;

· have demonstrated leadership behaviour; and

· have shown commitment to innovation and transformation in health care management.

The closing date for nominations is 30 September 2008. The TOP 10 INFLUENTIAL LEADERS will be announced at the 4th SAIHCM Conference at the CSIR Convention Centre on 30 and 31 October 2008. Their names will also feature in the December edition of HMR Africa, the official Journal of the SAIHCM. These annual awards are made by a panel of peers that form the SAIHCM Awards Committee.
