Following on from the tremendous success of the two previous volumes in South Africa, Superbrands South Africa Volume Three will tell the story of many of the brands who have been instrumental in forming the branding landscape in the nation.
Project Director and Associate Publisher for Superbrands South Africa, Simon Goddard says: "The project relies on a strong, experienced Council. Only those brands that are graded highly by this independent body may participate in the Superbrands project. This year, as in previous years, we are extremely fortunate to be working with a truly first class group of locally based senior executives from the branding, advertising, PR, media, retail and marketing industries who have agreed to donate some of their valuable time to help us discover which brands will be this year's Superbrands."
The council members grade each brand bearing in mind criteria guidelines including market dominance, longevity, goodwill, customer loyalty and overall market acceptance. The grading forms are kept strictly confidential so that the council members can be totally honest in their evaluations.
All the highly ranked brands are informed that they have been selected and that they are at liberty to celebrate this recognition. These brands are then invited to be featured in a nationwide marketing campaign, use the “experts' seal of Brand Excellence” and invited to the gala tribute event and book launch. Featured brands each receive a minimum of 30 copies of the book to use as they choose, whether for external and/or internal communications, with many choosing to commission a custom cover in order to add further value.
Superbrands books are distributed on a complimentary basis to advertising agencies, business schools, libraries, hotel foyers and airport lounges as well as to the leading thousand CEO's in the country. The case studies featured within the book are not written as an advertisement, but rather an independent case study, focusing on the market positioning, history and heritage, presenting the journey each brand took in achieving their Superbrand status. Journalists and decision makers find this an invaluable resource.
